Practical Job Skills:                   

 

          Accounting: Hands-on experience through general ledger, profit & loss, balance sheet.  Working knowledge of payroll accounting, Federal & State tax preparation for both employment and income taxes.  Budget preparation and analysis.  Experience in Public Utility Accounting.  Operate an Accounting Business (The Office Guy) with full charge of a medium sized local restaurant and a small public water utility company.

 

                 32 years in Motel Management at Sky Valley in Bartlett, New Hampshire. I am responsible for five employees and all phases of operating the property, including advertising, budgets, sales, customer relations and ensuring quality control in all aspects of the operation.  Have a good understanding of plumbing, electrical, carpentry and a common sense approach to problem solving in all situations.  Sky Valley has 19 units and 40 rooms (2 & 3 bedroom units) on a 30 acre property.    I have a working knowledge of many tasks and enough sense to know when a project is beyond my scope and needs professional attention.  I have good “people skills” and extensive experience in dealing with people in business situations.

                 Computer Experience:  Word, Excel, Power Point, Quickbooks accounting and Front Page.  Ten years experience creating and maintaining an 85 page website for Sky Valley Motel complete with on-line reservation and availability functionality (www.skyvalley4u.com).  . 

                 Real Estate Brokerage up until 2007 was a licensed New Hampshire Real Estate Broker.  Have experience in New Hampshire and Massachusetts.  Worked two years as a Real Estate Office Manager in the early 1970’s while in College.                

 

                Developed Sky Valley into a 56 unit zero lot line, 30 acre subdivision in Bartlett, New Hampshire. 

 

                Certified Ski Mechanic and 30 years ski rental shop experience, mostly at Attitash during the Thad Thorne years and currently assist at Heavens Ski Shop in Glen.

 

Education:

2 years at University of New Hampshire, Associate Degree in Business Management 1972,

2 years at Lowell Technological Institute, Major in Business Administration and Management, Minor in Finance. 1974

 

Military Service:

US Army, 1968 to 1971:  Served at Fort Bragg North Carolina at the Special Forces Training Institute and in Cam Rahn Bay Vietnam from July 1968 to July 1969.

 

Current Objective:

Sky Valley, where I have worked for 32 years, is for sale.  I have enjoyed my current management position and hope to achieve a similar position at a similar or larger property.

 

 

ABOUT DAVE ELIASON: I am 58 years old, 195 pounds, 6 feet tall and in good health both physically and mentally. Four Years of College with a major in Business Administration, Finance and Accounting.  I have spent the last 32 years operating a mid sized motel and cottage complex in the White Mountains of New Hampshire and have learned many useful skills along the way.  Low key, easy going personality; fair minded arbitrator and not one to go into panic mode.   Three grown children, hobbies include gardening, skiing and  carpentry.
